the winter warmth essentials.Winter is fast approaching, and a key look for me this winter is definitely to layer up! I’m loving these midi length tight skirts paired with a simple collared shirt, layering a singlet or t-shirt over the top and a huge warm coat and of corse those signature black boots! Pairing this simple white almost see through collared white shirt with the tanned stripped singlet adds that extra layer, texture and pizzazz to this outfit, and of course you just have to tuck! I’m a huge fan of tucking a few layers into the bottoms of your outfit and it’s no different for a knitted black midi length skirt! For me this skirt ties in the whole outfit and makes it pop, pairing these light colours with one large dark colour balances the whole outfit and using a knit gives it (and you can feel it) that cosy warmth feeling very well much needed on a winters day. Tie it all together with some simple gold accents and jewellery and the warm hearty outfit is complete!
Hope you enjoy! jlt x who knew dates and coconut could taste so good.Easter is only days away and this is a perfect little treat for all your friends and family. It’s quick, easy and healthy! All you’ll need is 2 cups of pitted dates and 2 cups of desiccated coconut (plus a little extra for rolling). First chop all the dates in half and watch out for pips! Next you simply blend the ingredients together in a food processor. You may need to add a few drops of water to combine it all together nicely. Now it’s time to roll! AND seeing that it is Easter the only appropriate shape is an egg. Once you are happy with your egg shape you can then roll it through the extra coconut. You can also use alternatives such as cacao, chia seeds, sesame seeds, blended nuts and anything else your heart desires. Then place in the fridge overnight.
Then you can simply place them on a plate and serve or you could maybe wrap a few in some cellophane bags tie a pretty ribbon around the top with a personalised gift tags perfect for friends and family. Hope you enjoy and I wish you all a lovely Easter! Would love to see your creations (comment below) jlt x how to create the perfect inspiration board.Inspiration to me is the key to exploring and creating new things it allows the mind to be free and express ones style and mood. I love having an inspiration board in my study acting as so much more than an inspiration ranging from a to do list, reminder and form of art. How to create the perfect inspiration board for you is simple and is an easy way to add an extra feature to your room. Simply select a theme that best represents your style and who you are and collect images that represent this, for me that’s minimalistic black and white fashion photography and articles with a few inspiring quotes. The images I have used are copied out of a collective magazine a while ago. Once you have selected a theme and a few of your favourite images simply arrange them on your pin board in various ways until you are happy. I have decided to use two brown cork pin boards because who can stop at one! Once you are happy with your arrangement simply pin in place. I have decided to use pins that stick with my theme of minimalistic using clear, white and black pins. And your done! I like to put my boards in a place that I will see each day and for me this is the window on my sewing desk where all the action happens. And the great thing about these inspiration boards is that you can easily change them up throughout the year to acquire for the changing seasons and ideas that flow through your mind. Happy pinning lovelies!
jlt x Tell me more!No unfortunately I’m not talking about the Grease musical, with big flowing high waisted skirts, little laced collared shirts and big curly hair (although that would be pretty cool) I’m talking that chick, casual yet classy look to take you anywhere and everywhere of an evening. For me still being in that young teenage school stage I don’t get to go out all that often, but when I do get invited to go out for dinner with family or friends I do like to look clean. Another problem I encounter is not looking too ‘old’ or too ‘young’ for my age and for me this outfit does the trick! This simple straight black and white floral print dress goes with anything and everything of your wardrobe with the simple neckline and small cut out around the waistline it gives it an edgy, raw look that I’m loving at the moment. Paired with a simple pair of heels, or you could opt for flats and a light weight coat of any colour (but I feel this green works best) it will last you all night long!
So party on lovers! And enjoy! jlt x a few arrangement ideas.Of lately I have been obsessing over Australia's native flowers. So one day after walking home from the hair dressers I decided to pick up a few along the way. However I came home and simply couldn't decide what to do with them or how to arrange them. So here are a few ideas for you on how to simply arrange your favourite flowers. One option is wrapping the flowers in plain brown paper. Start by arranging the flowers the way you want them and cut a piece of brown paper to a size that fits. Next transfer them on to the corner of the brown paper you cut and wrap each corner around the bunch. Once all folded away you are done! Another option is to arrange the flowers in a vase or jar. Simply arrange the flowers in a way that you like them. Fill up your favourite vase or jar with water, for this I used my mason jar. Simply place the flowers in and your done! These are just few of the many ways you can arrange your flowers however I found these really simple and really easy. Hope you enjoy arranging!
jlt x shades of blue on blue.Hello everyone! This is a new and exciting outfit post of mine! This fresh monochrome look is definitely a wardrobe essential for me this summer and autumn. I love a good blue colour so why not make a whole outfit based on the colour? Pairing this white and navy patterned top with a dark blue skirt really allows the design to pop and doesn't make the look seem too similar in shade and these laced up ocean blue shoes adds that extra detail to take a casual look to the next level. They always say the shoes make the outfit and they most definitely do! Add a triple layered necklace and your good to go!
